Both are very similar in terms of outsourcing the payroll however the PEO surpasses the umbrella on a number of items: 1. The contractor doesn’t pay a fee under PEO. 2. The PEO pay slip is a simple, easy to understand, PAYE payslip. 3. Unlike the umbrella pay slip, the contractor doesn’t appear to be paying ENIC, employers’ pension and app levy with PEO. 4. The overall cost to the hirer/agency is considerably cheaper with the PEO versus the umbrella. 5. There are huge cash flow savings with the PEO versus the umbrella up to 19% total invoice value, per person, per week. These cashflow savings can be actual savings under certain circumstances. 6. The PEO isn’t subject to any bad press and has been reviewed and fully recognised by HMRC from day one.
